We often see
filmi heroes fighting bravely in the movies, taking on evil men and saving the world. This movie also has a similar story, the only difference being that the heroes we are talking about are real life heroes.
Over a dozen IPS officers from Jharkhand are playing important roles in a film called Pratyavartan – The Home Coming. This is probably the first time in India that so many real life police officers will play several characters in a film.

Made by Jharkhand police, the movie focuses on spreading the message of non-violence to left-wing extremist groups, asking them to quit the path of violence. The over two-hour-long movie is the brainchild of former director general of police (DGP) Rajiv Kumar (who has acted as DGP in the movie). The film premiered at a local multiplex in Ranchi on Thursday evening.
The story of the film revolves around the life of a Maoist zonal commander who feels that Maoists have deviated from the path of ideology. The movie has a lot of plot twists and even a love story to keep the audience hooked.
The story is of a Maoist boy who rescues a girl who has been raped and eventually falls in love with her. He is torn between his love and the expectations of his leader to participate in the war against the state.
The idea of making this film came to Kumar in 2013 when he was the DGP, Jharkhand police. Through this movie, he wants to encourage Maoists to leave the path of violence and return into the mainstream. The movie will be released to the public at large on November 13, 2015.
The film is directed by Nimu Bhaumik and has been mostly shot in Jharkhand. In addition, renowned singer Shaan has given his voice to several songs. Apart from the police officers, the movie also stars Shreela Majumder, Mousumi Bhattacharya, Ishan, and Saikat Chatterjee, among other actors.
